Breast Enlargement Procedure

Every step of the procedure is meticulously performed to keep postoperative discomfort to a minimum. At our facility, breast enlargement is typically performed under general anesthesia. The procedure often only takes one hour to complete.
The implants can be inserted through incisions made in the armpit, in the areola (the pigmented area surrounding the nipple), or in the fold created by the breast's juncture with the torso. The placement of the incisions makes the scars virtually invisible after they have healed. The implants will be placed either directly beneath the breast tissue or behind the chest muscle. You and Dr. Leedy will decide, at your initial consultation, which options will best meet your particular needs.
Breast Enlargement Recovery
Dr. Leedy's patients are given detailed post-operative instructions. Patients take a short nap after surgery, then are instructed to shower and start gentle upper body exercises. By following Dr. Leedy's post-operative instructions, most patients are able to go out to dinner the day of surgery and resume nearly normal activities within 24 to 48 hours. Strenuous exercise and direct stimulation to the breasts should be avoided for at least a few weeks following breast augmentation surgery. As with any surgical procedure, there will be some scarring; however, the incisions are generally small and the scars will fade with time.
Breast Augmentation Risks
