Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Eyelid surgery, medically referred to as blepharoplasty, effectively reduces sagging skin, puffiness, and wrinkles around the eyes. The procedure begins by making incisions along the natural lines of the upper and lower eyelids. Dr. Leedy will then separate the skin from the fatty tissue underneath, and remove the excess skin and fat from the area. The results typically bring a healthier, more youthful rejuvenation to the eyes that can have a positive affect on the appearance of the entire face. During recovery from eyelid surgery, patients will see some mild bruising from the procedure; however, this is temporary and can usually be well disguised with make-up. Patients who undergo blepharoplasty are typically able to return to work and their normal daily routines in about a week to ten days.
